The Kentucky Political Science Association is meeting March 2-3 at Northern Kentucky University. The theme of this year’s meeting is The 2000 Elections and Beyond.  We will have panels on the 2000 election and several other topics of interest.

This year, we have a special Friday morning half-day symposium entitled "Voting in the 21st Century: What are the
essential changes and challenges?" The symposium is co-sponsored by the Eastern Kentucky University Center for Kentucky History and Politics, and the Kentucky Political Science Association. It will take place between 9:30 AM and 12:30 PM. Former KY Sen. Wendell Ford and KY Secretary of State John Y. Brown III have been invited to address this conference. Sen. Ford was the primary author of the "motor voter bill" and is a nationally recognized expert on the voting process. Secretary Brown is chair of the Elections Committee of the National Association of Secretaries of State and has recently issued a 10-point plan for improvingelections in Kentucky.

The KPSA will kick off Friday afternoon at 1:00 pm with panels, a business meeting, social hour and a dinner. This year, the dinner featured speaker will be Dr. Jim Heizer. Jim has been to Russia 15 times, plans to return this May. He has taught, and in fact, is still teaching students in Russia via Internet / email. His talk is titled "Dead Souls Refuse to Die - Russia's Struggle with Post Modernism."

The dinner is an option cost ($20) from the registration fee $5.  Annual dues remain at $4.00.  The KPSA will continue Saturday morning with panels and close at noon.
